A Space to Cook and Eat

We believe food is key to everything. To life, to health, to relationships, to culture and to society. So we are creating somewhere people can cook on their own or together, eat on their own or together. And also learn together. The main cooking space is the renovated cart shed or what we have come to call “The Arches”. The room is filled with light from the large windows that have filled the arches. We have chosen marmoluem as the flooring because its a natural product, easy to clean and available in a great range of colours.The rest of the interiors have been chosen with functionality, form and environmental impact all in mind. Quite the research project!

We wanted to provide our self catering guests with the facilities of well stocked kitchen but without the need to worry about if the other guests have done their washing up. So each room has its own cooking station with oven, hob, dishwasher, sink and eating area. The kitchen space can thus be used as one big communal area or a collection of private spaces.

And now we have somewhere to cook outside too! It’s pretty rustic – we are using a truck wheel rim as a BBQ, but works perfectly.
